Graduate Research Assistant Positions

Applications are invited for Graduate Research Assistant positions in Microelectromechanical Systems (MEMS) Laboratory at the University of Akron, (https://mems.uakron.edu/), beginning at Fall 2023 or Spring 2024.  MEMS Lab is currently conducting research on micro mechanical systems, micro manufacturing, micro/nano fluidic phenomenon, smart materials and structures, micro and nanoscale sensors, lab-on-a-chip devices. Our Lab is well funded by National Science Foundation, as well as other federal/state funding agencies and companies. Students graduated from our lab all found positions in prestigious companies including IBM, Intel, Johnson & Johnson, Panasonic, Hitachi, B&W etc.

Successful GRA candidates should have or will receive by the time of taking up the position a BS or MS degree (MS preferred) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrument Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Applied Physics or a closely related field and should be eligible to enroll in the Ph.D. program in the Mechanical Engineering Department at The University of Akron. Compensations include full tuition coverage and competitive stipend.
